A warm\u2011up. A rough draft. Something to get through so that life can start properly tomorrow. Tomorrow is when we\u2019ll begin eating better. Tomorrow is when we\u2019ll stop procrastinating. Tomorrow is when we\u2019ll make the call, write the email, leave the situation, start the thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ext-animate--on wp-block-paragraph\">Tomorrow is always cleaner. Calmer. Better lit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ext-animate--on wp-block-paragraph\">Today, by contrast, feels crowded and compromised. Today has bills, unread messages, bad timing, and inconvenient emotions. Today asks things of us when we feel unprepared. So we push responsibility forward like an overfilled inbox, telling ourselves we\u2019ll deal with it when conditions improve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In a culture obsessed with what\u2019s next, choosing to be here becomes its own quiet rebellion, we lose whole seasons chasing horizons that never arrive; meanwhile, the present waits with open hands. The future is a mirage we\u2019ve mistaken for a map \u2014 the real path unfolds beneath our feet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tomorrow is a dangerous place. It is imaginary\u2014and yet it holds enormous psychological power. It whispers lies that feel responsible and sensible:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list ext-animate--on\">\n<li class=\"ext-animate--on\">\u201cYou\u2019ve got time.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ext-animate--on\">\u201cNow isn\u2019t ideal.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ext-animate--on\">\u201cOnce things are clearer, then you\u2019ll act.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ext-animate--on\">\u201cJust get through this week first.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ext-animate--on wp-block-paragraph\">The lie is not that clarity exists. Momentum produces information. Movement reveals friction points that thinking never will. But we reverse the order because waiting feels safer than beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ext-animate--on wp-block-paragraph\">Uncertainty, as John Maynard Keynes observed, is not a defect of reality.&nbsp;<em>\u201cWe are not prisoners of an inevitable future. Uncertainty makes us free.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ext-animate--on wp-block-paragraph\">Free to choose.<br>Free to make mistakes.<br>Free to pivot.<br>Free to begin without permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ext-animate--on wp-block-paragraph\">The future doesn\u2019t exist in any actionable sense. You cannot visit it. You cannot test it. You cannot negotiate with it. The past, meanwhile, is deaf. It does not respond to regret, emails, or carefully worded apologies delivered too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ext-animate--on wp-block-paragraph\">The only place where anything actually happens\u2014the only place where leverage exists\u2014is the present moment. The unglamorous, messy, compromised version of now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"ext-animate--on wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNone of you can add any time to your life by worrying about it,\u201d Jesus pointed out, casually dismantling centuries of human behavior in one sentence. Worry is productivity cosplay. It looks busy. It feels virtuous. But it produces nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">And yet we cling to it. Why?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because worrying about the future gives us an excuse not to act in the present. It feels like engagement without accountability.
